Welcome to the New WebDeploy Website

We are excited to announce the launch of our first official website, featuring our signature retro-cyberpunk aesthetic.

After years of letting our projects do the talking, WebDeploy finally has a home. This is not a redesign - it is our first website, built from scratch to reflect exactly who we are: open source advocates, developer-first thinkers, and believers in technology that respects its users.

What's New

  • Retro-cyberpunk design: A unique aesthetic that reflects our hacker ethics
  • Fully bilingual: Complete English and Italian translations
  • Privacy-focused: No tracking cookies, just self-hosted Matomo analytics
  • Open source foundation: Built entirely with FOSS technologies
  • Lightweight and fast: No bloat, just what you need

A Note on Modern Web Development

We will be honest: we have always preferred vanilla languages. There is something deeply satisfying about understanding every line of code you write, without layers of abstraction hiding what is really happening. When you master the fundamentals - plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - you gain a level of control and understanding that no framework can replicate.

That said, we built this site with Svelte - and if you must use a framework, Svelte is one of the few we can recommend.

What made this project interesting is how LLMs have changed the equation. Modern frameworks and libraries are extensively documented with precise examples for specific UI patterns. This makes them ideal for AI-assisted development.

LLMs excel at generating framework-specific code because training data is rich with well-structured documentation and examples. Vanilla code requires deeper understanding that comes from studying and practice.

So while our heart remains with vanilla approaches for those willing to invest the time to truly learn, we acknowledge that the combination of well-documented tools and AI assistance has made frameworks more practical than ever for rapid development.

Design Philosophy

The retro-cyberpunk aesthetic is more than just visual style - it represents our values. The terminal-inspired interface, neon colors, and CRT effects pay homage to the golden age of computing when developers understood their machines intimately. Every element is designed to feel both nostalgic and forward-looking, a reminder that sometimes the old ways still have much to teach us.

What's Next

This launch is just the beginning. We will be adding more content, case studies, and resources in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates on our projects and services.
